WONDERFUL TO MEET YOU

Wonderful to meet you!

I'm Colleen and I am multidisciplinary freelance designer specializing in brand and web design with a focus towards the wedding, fashion and beauty industries.

I am a mostly self taught graphic designer with a diploma in Digital Media and Production. I fell in love with design in school and have enjoyed working closely with clients to elevate their business by providing a truly bespoke branding and website design. Storytelling creates deep connections beyond the sales pitch. If you want people to believe and trust in your business, you need to communicate your brand story. A brand story clearly conveys your history, why you exist, and your goals to help others. We are wired to respond to emotion. A great brand always tells memorable stories that showcase their humanity. Crafting a brand identity involves a lot more than simply designing a logo. It starts with discovering who you are as a business owner: defining your audience, finding your niche, and infusing what makes you unique into your business’s visual identity.

The results are truly invaluable; a stunning collection of graphics that effortlessly tell your story.

Contact me so we can get the design process started. I am looking forward to collaborating and creating something truly special for you.

are you ready to transform your business?

I work Monday - Friday from 8.00 am to 5.00 pm, and am based in Vancouver, B.C. 10.00 am, 12.00 pm, and 3.00 pm the best time for calls. I am also available during the evening on the weekend. During your project we will primarily use email and Dubsado to communicate. This helps me keep everything organised and in one place. If you’d like to chat via Skype/phone, feel free to shoot me an email to schedule.

Here's the gist on how
we can work together!

Faq

1. Do you offer payment plans?

To kick off the project I require a 25% deposit. From there, we’ll break up the rest into 3-4 payments that will be spread equally throughout our project. However, I’m flexible and am happy to discuss other payment plans options that work better with your budget. I can accept payments through multiple methods: stripe, paypal, e-transfer, cheque ect, whichever you prefer.

2. What website platform do you design with?

I can design websites on showit, shopify, squarespace and webflow. I encourage you to do some research on the pricing and features of each platform. I prefer using showit as it has the most flexible design capabilities though I also find squarespace to be very user friendly. I have experience adding custom css to squarespace websites so that is an option too.

3. What is included in a round of revisions?

My design process is very collaborative so your input is valuable to me. Each round of revisions provides you the opportunity to give me limitless feedback (doesn’t matter if you give 1 or 20 points of feedback). I will action this feedback to present design revisions back to you. Sometimes the designs don’t require revisions, but there is always opportunity if needed. Try to be as specific as you can when giving feedback. Keep our brand strategy in mind when reviewing designs and know that every design decision that I make has the intention of communicating and connecting to your target market.

4. What is the difference between a logo and a brand identity?

These two terms, often used interchangeably are actually not the same. A logo is just a mark that visually identifies a brand. It can be a graphic image, the typographical representation of the brand or a combination of both. A visual identity is a broader concept that encompases all of the visual elements that make up the look and fee of a brand. It includes the logo, the colour palette, the fonts, image style, layouts and any other graphic element supporting the brand (business cards, packaging etc). All of these elements are outlined in a brand style guide for you to refer back to so you’re able to maintain consistency.

5. Do you offer printing?

I’ve researched and found some great resources for printing and packaging & I’m happy to help find what you need. I have had good experiences with both moo. com for printing and packlane.com for packaging. Please note the costs of printing are not included.

6. Do you offer design services on retainer?

Depending on my schedule, I can offer design services on retainer if that is what is suitable to the type of project. Things like social media graphic design, blog graphics, or single landing page web design ( for courses, or product launches ) are typically what my clients ask for when they have me on retainer.
